Palacios ATA Martial Arts | Karate Kids

Our Karate Kids program is the most popular martial arts program in North America for children ages 7 to 12 years old.  Individual attention is a feature of each and every class, allowing students to progress quickly and confidently toward their personal goals.

Our instructors take their responsibility seriously as role models for their students, teaching them the importance of strong character, leadership and good values. Students learn the importance of "Black Belt Excellence", a metaphor for demonstrating strong character. Instructors lead by example and earn the respect of the students by always using positive reinforcement.

The American Taekwondo Association has developed this program based on traditional Taekwondo principles that address both the needs of the parent's needs and the child's. At PALACIOS ATA MARTIAL ARTS, every kid can be a WINNER because we allow each child to reach for their own potential rather than directly competing against other kids. 

Being a student at Palacios ATA Martial Arts also means being a better student in life.  All Kids in the Karate Kids program learn skills, such as following  directions, paying attention in class, and participating in activities that help them become better leaders. 

The Karate Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical taekwondo skills. The building blocks for our system are based on monthly themes such as:

When ATA Karate Kids students become a member of our school the student will receive a blue trimmed "Victory patch" to displayed on the front of their uniform.

The star system is a unique proven reward system using different colored stars. This system was developed to assist in building confidence, self-esteem, and to support our motto, "Every kid is special" and "Every kid is a WINNER!"

Students are rewarded with special stars that can be attached to their "Victory patch" to display their personal achievements.

Students not only earn stars for participation in Taekwondo but also for school work, good grades, community service and participation in other sports and civic functions.

Stars are placed on the Karate Kids "Victory Patch". Four different colored Victory Patches are available to accommodate all the stars that can be earned by a high achieving Karate Kid.

Kids are rewarded special "Victory Stars." These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Kids may receive the following stars for the following deeds:

• Gold - Straight A's, honor roll, or significant improvement
• Silver - Special performance awards
• Blue - Monthly themes, weekly lessons, classroom performance
• Red - Tournament Participation
